With this vision firmly rooted in his heart, he organized a committee of representatives from various churches who began meeting in 1981. The committee was charged with exploring what it would take to see the dream become a reality, meeting monthly to strategize.
Alyce Anne Baggett, a Lufkin native, has served on the Methodist Retirement Communities Board of Directors since 2010 and is currently serving as Vice Chair. She was initially introduced to the organization in 2003 when her mother moved into PineCrest.
The old saying, “If these walls could talk…” is certainly an appropriate sentiment. Many lives have been impacted by the community over the years.
As we live our lives, each one of us is searching for things to feel safe, secure and at peace with all those around us.
