Back to workforce with the ideal job for me
When I decided to return to the workforce after taking time off for four years serving as primary caregiver for several family members, I prayed that God would present an opportunity for me to use my spiritual gifts. I wanted to be at peace in my next position, while also being able to pay the bills. I wanted to make a difference, and I was doing so on the various community boards I served, but the season of life my family entered required that I bring a second steady income into our home.
Healthy Work-Life Balance
I knew that I did not want to be miserable again, I knew that I needed to move away from working 60-70hrs per week as I had in my prior position. I was determined to place by family first, while also giving110% to my called career. Surely God could use my college education, 30years of administrative management, and various supervisory skills to serve somewhere? Surely all that time and energy was not for naught? After a heartfelt prayer one day, a friend said that she knew of the perfect job for me, especially because she was aware that I had been caring for family the past four years. I am so grateful that she connected me with MRC PineCrest.
The Ministry of Working in Non-Profit Senior Living
A few days after our conversation I had an interview, and the rest is history. I immediately fell in love with the sweet residents whom I was able to serve. I felt as though I was surrounded by those adorable grandparents that everyone enjoys talking with. I have been blessed to work with an amazing Concierge Team. It is inspiring to consider how far we have come with learning new systems and developing processes to ensure success. It is a blessing to be surrounded by highly skilled co-workers that challenge me every day. This is what I truly enjoy. I am pushed to grow and continue to develop the gifts God has given me. It is definitely not always easy, but the rewards are huge as we get to be best friends with those who are in this beautiful season of life. Additionally, we are allowed to show them that no matter what happens, someone truly cares for them as a child of God. What a wonderful ministry to be able to serve elders in our community. I have truly found my calling.
