Twenty-three years ago a young Heath Foust applied for an open position on the maintenance team at PineCrest in Lufkin. Little did he know that this job would turn into a rewarding career filled with incredible opportunities for personal growth.
Foust’s earliest experiences came from serving in the US Army. “I really learned about discipline and developed a sense of duty to serve others while in the military,” said Foust. Once leaving the service however, he was faced with building a career in the civilian world. With a well developed skilled set already, Foust joined the maintenance team at PineCrest, eventually being promoted to director where he would manage the maintenance and housekeeping teams.
Foust would confess that he didn’t set out to become Executive Director when he first applied 23 years ago, in fact, his younger self may be a tad surprised to learn all that the future would hold. After working alongside Heath in one capacity or another for the past two decades, Amy Horton, Vice President of Operations, expressed that she isn’t surprised at all. “Heath has always aligned with the mission of MRC, no matter what job he was doing, he followed through with his whole heart,” said Horton, “He keeps the residents first in every way possible. The role of Executive Director requires a servant leader, and that is certainly Heath!”
